Nikon D200 menu settings for underwater photography

I was asked by several people at OCUPS how I setup my menus on the Nikon D200 for UW photos. My explanation got a bit detailed so I decided to put it online. I thought it might be helpful to anyone getting started with the D200. You can read it here.

Nice job putting this together. After reading some recommendations over on the Nikonians forum I have been modifying the Optimize Image settings. I use a Custom setting:
Image sharpening +2
Tone compensation Auto
Color Mode III
Saturation + Enhanced
Hue adjustment 0
I use these setting for underwater, nature, and landscape. If I'm shooting family snapshots or more serious portraits I switch to the Portrait preset. I shoot RAW so any of the settings can be altered afterwards but I've been using these for quite a while now and they seem to work pretty well.
Thanks Bonnie, will help heaps
Thanks Bonnie. There's one other item I would add here. Since the option to "Format" your card is the first option on the "Setup" menu, make sure that you set the menu to one of the other menu interfaces such as the "Shooting" menu when you finish using the interface
Why? Because you, or someone helping you, can easily hit the menu button when picking up the camera housing and passing it into a boat. I've had the shock of seeing that option being displayed after a dive - hit the OK/enter button and there go your shots.
