I'm in the market for new strobes (I have two subtronic alpha macro pro). I am looking for lightweight (for travelling), with good manual controls. The best .....?
Anyone got any suggestions?

I'd suggest browsing the lighting forum and educating yourself on what's out there, and then coming back with specific questions. It's very hard to answer a question like, "What is the best?".
Most strobe manufacturers (e.g. INON, Sea & Sea, and Ikelite) carry relatively small strobes. I think the INON is a good balance of power and features vs size.
At the bottom of the lighting forum is a drop-down that says, "From: 60 days". If you change that to "Show: All", you'll be able to go back in time forever. Or, use the search box in the forum interface.
