  3. David,

Good to see lovely pictures of yours.

    Robin,

They are located ,20 min drive from the airport of Bohol, at Panglao Isld. Also, not far from Balicasag. I dove at Bohol but, did not see macro stuff he saw.

Thanks David, yes I like them too! The small white crab with the touches of yellow......, he is especially interesting to me? Very handsome! I wonder what species he is?

A couple of quick ?s if you don't mind David?

Did you have the vr turned on for all the shots?

Which 4T is it you used? Any trouble focusing?

Did you use manual override focus or all auto?

Is the lens balanced in your Hugy housing?

I have the 105vr lens and the new Subal 105vr port but haven't been down with it yet as I've been shooting wide. But this Sunday that will change and I'll take it down to 100 feet for a handling test in the springs and get my first shots with it. No teleconverter or diopter yet though but I want to get one/some.

Thanks for your neat post and info!

    Best, Carol

  7. Thank you all!

Seagrant: I shot all of them with vr on and AF (I don´t have a manual focus ring). 4T is a nikon close up lens equivalent to 6T but with 52mm (105vr is 62m) so I use an adapter ring for it and focusing is troubleless (but you can´t focus further than 50cm or so...). The lens feels pretty balanced but it has a negative buoyancy anyway...

Tell us how it goes this sunday!! :P

  8. Lovely pictures,

The small crab in the bottom left picture is a 'squat lobster' Allogalathea sp. It is normally found hiding in the arms of featherstars with matching colours.

OOOPS, that is what I get for looking too quickly!

Allogalathea elegans you think or undescribed?

Anyway David he is cool looking and it is a great pic!!!....., see it is your neat "head-on" shot that quickly fooled me.........., I had actually been looking at bunches of "ID" shots of Pacific creatures recently (that must be why my brain is fried... :P ) and most all the squat lobsters are shot downward or sideways showing the whole squat lobster with the outstretched claws in proportion. I recently told Paul Humann that I was hopeless at Pacific creatures - and I just demonstrated that.......

I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow!

    Best, Carol

I would have thought it is, but i didn't want to go into too much detail in case i was wrong!
