  1. Hello all!!

At the middle of february I am finally leaving for NZ until the 3th of march. Any hints or something I should know? scuba diving? best places?

  2. Definitly Poor Knights Island . Cold but beautiful .

    Good luck

  3. I spent a couple of days in Kiakaoura a few years ago and saw they had blue and mako shark cage diving that looked interesting. Here's a story.

  4. Fiordland - but temperate (I used my drysuit) and difficult to get into - some of the best cold water diving I've ever done though! Poor Knights and the "Rainbow Warrior" are of course 'required diving' and well worth doing too.

  5. The dive shop in Tutakaka (east of Whangarei) is always voted one of the best dive shops in New Zealand. They should be able to give you a pretty good "Poor Knights" experience.

I grew up diving for Cray's (Pacific Rock Lobster) just south of there in the "Hen and Chicken" Islands off Bream Bay. It isn't exactly cold water... I usually use a 5mm semi-dry this time of year but if you're not used to temperate diving take something rather warm.

    Enjoy!

edit: here's a link for the Tutakaka dive shop: http://www.diving.co.nz/
