After several years of shooting OLY P&S's underwater I've committed to make the plunge into the SLR realm. Mortage the house and here we go. Ikelite and Nikon are the choice. Not concerned with the "soft side" (memory, card readers, software) got that covered. Main concerns are.... have I missed something important and do all these pieces "play well together". Yes only one strobe..for now..The wife had to win one argument. Thanks for any input.

Looks good to me mate.
Have you considered the 10.5 or 15/16 instead of the zoom? Up to you, but I have the zoom and tend to only really use it topside.
looking good.
but seriously consider the tokina 12-24 as an alternative, it is almost half the price and is very comparable. thats -$400 right there.
you can also save more by foregoing the flat port for now -$150
and going with the 6inch 5503.50 dome port that can handle the 60mm and 12-24mm, instead of the 8inch dome.-$XXX.00 there, 5503.50 domes are very common, so you might find some used ones here in the classifieds.
now you can add a second strobe!
I notice there is no mention of zoom gear for the 12-24 nor focus gear for the 60, the latest been more or less optional.
DS 125 package 3944.75
does this include sync cable and arms ?
have you thoght about 3rd party arms ?? I replaced my ikelite "packaged" arms with ULCS very quickly !
If you don't have/use TTL I would seriously contemplate a manual controller for the DS125s.
cheers

I (predictably, perhaps) second the idea that you consider the 10.5 or 15/16 fisheyes ... they also shoot well from the compact port, saving you more $$ and making travel simpler. I also much prefer the ULCS arms to the Ike arms.
