I just baught the INTOVA IC 600 camera, and took some amazing pictures on my first dive with it. All in all, I think that it was worth the price, but I am having a problem with power consumption and wonder if anyone else is having the same problem.
The camera takes 2 "double A" batteries - which I like since you don't have to haul a proprietary charger around everywhere. Unfortunately, the battery life is suprisingly short. I used it once on a dive, and then downloaded the pictures onto my computer. Afer leaving the camera sitting around for a week, I took the camera out to take some pictures at a party. To my suprise, the batteries lasted a few minutes and died. Thinking that the batteries were probably defective, I baught NEW batteries (that night) and took around 30 pitures (turning the camera off between picture sets). The next morning, I got the camera out to look at the pictures I took the night before - only to discover that the batteries were dead again!!
This problem doesn't seem normal, and I will probably contact INTOVA once I get access to my warranty and registration information (I am not at home). If anyone else has had a similar problem, let me know. I will also update this when I find more information.
