I am in the urgent need of getting out of my place and do some nice diving and UW photography. I have some time restrictions and need to try to find a place to go between March and April. Unfortunately, this time my girlfriend cannot join me so I will actually go alone.
I tried to see here in Wetpixel whether something is being organised for this time but I could not find anything.
I have been looking at the Agressor liveaboards but I wanted to get your opinion about good liveaboards to take at this time of the year and in which region of the World.
Could you please advise me on good places / liveaboards to go and hopefully also not way too expensive.
Thank you once more for all your help.
Regards
Nuno
If you want cheap try some of the Typhoon boats in the Southern Red Sea, they aren't as refined as the Aggressor or Peter hughes Boats but they are cheap and with lots of diving.
Maybe one of the Indonesian Liveaboards? I think KLM flies direct to a few cities in Indo, and critter diving seems to be in fashion at the moment.
But i bet you could get 2 weeks on a boat in the red sea for the same price as 1 week on a boat elsewhere when you take into consideration flights and additional costs.
Second the Typhoon suggestion - for a week away given the price it can't be beat. My personal favorite is the 'simply the best'. here
Solid week diving - for basically <1K GBP.
I have no connection with any of the companies here - just seem to pay them most of my travel budget !
Hi guys,
Thanks for your replies. I am thought not very interested in going to Egypt this time. I decided to go in the Utila Agressor from 7th April-14th April.
I hope I have a nice experience there as this is my first liveaboard and my first travel really focusing on UW photography.
I'm impressed. I can't seem to get onto an "Aggressor", even 12 months in advance....
.... does anyone know about the "Fish 'n' Fins" boats in Palau?
Is "Typhoon" the same as "Tornado"? I would put the new boats in the same class as the Aggressors, though the diving is constrained by the popularity of the sites that they visit. I hope to be in the Sudan in two weeks, on the "Royal Emperor": the boat is not as big, but the diving should be spectacular.
This is as close as I got to an Aggressor:

Tornado Marine is the name of the company who own the boats; the m/v Typhoon is one of their fleet.
