Here is a copy of my reply from rebreatherworld
Self contained video lights??
Hmmm. Not what I would be looking for in a video light. If you mount video lights on housing, you want the battery packs as close to the housing as possible and the light heads on light arms. This improves the balance.
Combined light heads and battery packs are heavy. If you mount them on video arms, they will be rather far away from the housing. (larger distance is bigger force - lever). The weight distribution will change each time you reposition your lights. Even a minor difference between the position of the lights will make your housing rotate or tilt.
And you will need very strong light arms to hold the head/battery pack above water.

Just my opinion.,

Peter,
I guess we first need to differentiate between the "prosumer" and "pro", and the budgets they can have.
For the pro, I don't have any experience, but you argument seems very logicial.
For the "prosumer", I've seen a bunch of people with Drakbusters and such on arms, but with no reflectors. I have one of those, and they are HEAVY! Not sure if for about double the money these would not be a strong alternative. Plus, these look (not seen physically) a lot more streamlined, as the Darkbuster setup you really need to push through the water. + the traveling prosumer probably doesn't want all the excess luggage...
But, I think what it probably boils down to is: each person's requirements are different based on location, travel, type of diving, subjects, and budget.
Still interested to hear from anyone that has seem or used these.
Cheers!
I ordered a Salvo 35w for evaluation today, and I'll let you know how it goes. I prefer separate light heads myself, but many of my customers don't like to be tethered to the rig.
Would there still be room on top for the 4"monitor and carry handle.

the carry handle is still attached, but it is sort of hidden in between the battery packs. It is also possible to connect the battery packs under the housing, freeing up space on top for the monitor.
I actually prefer the batteries under the housing. I'm now changing to FIII batteries with the HID250. The pciture shows the HID100. The HID2500 also works with the FII battery but it only gives 55 minutes of burn time. The FIII batteries are double the size of the FII, so they can only be mounted underneath the housing. And they need an extra bouyancy compensator. I will post pictures when that setup is finished.
