G7 Ikelite port for WA

Just saw on the Ike website that they're now offering an optional port for the Canon G7 housing that "slightly limits camera's zoom range, but allows for effective use of 67mm threaded external wide-angle lenses". Anyone know anymore, or how this might work? Is it as easy as it being a shorter port?

Still waiting on mine (apparently they're out of stock) to arrive from the states, but thinking for an extra $100, will definatley be worth it.

By the way, have been playing around with my new G7 on land, and am VERY impressed with everything about it. So far, no complaints

This definitely put the camera back on my shortlist. Did you ask Ikelite for any details on this? Maybe it is possible to get just this port instead of the orgininal one to the housing.

Have you also ordered a WA-lens?

Did you get your Ikelite housing yet? When I talked to the folks at Reefphoto I was told that you could also order the standard housing and the WA housing port as a seperate item. Did you order them that way?

I ordered the shorter port after the housing, as I had already made the purchase. It's my primary port now, whenever I'm using my WA I have it. Only problem is there's very little zoon (ok, not such a problem underwater). Might go back to the longer port for macro stuff, but for now, I'm happy.

Do you have any pictures you can share? I would love to see how the WA works as well as anything other photos you might have!

A couple of the posts on the othe G7 thread are using the WA lens, specifically the wreck and clownfish photos.
