Probably one for wagsy to answer here, but how much of a shock (handling and weight wise) would it be moving from a TRV950 setup to an FX1 in a phenom housing?
I mainly dive from hardboats with our dive club and the occasional beach/shore dive?

Prep training: Start on the dumb-bells say 8-10kg then try the bar..
Get ready for a shocker.

I'm dreading the first shore dive I have to do with my Bluefin. I just came back from Cozumel and we used about 4 different dive operators all across the island. Not fun lugging that behemoth everywhere.
I don't understand - it was so much easier on the liveaboards...
Hey johnny boy
The Phenom is super easy to use once in the water and weighted perfectly.
On land it's a lump hence the top grap handle comes in very handy at times and get that special pelican box with wheels so you can wheel it around the place.
always use two hands to carry your Phenom, not just one by the top handle, it can slip!
Once in the water it is GALAXIES better than the 950 as the large housing is soooo steady and easy to use.
you will love it
Stop it...
Your giving him false hope.. <_<
Should have gone with the A1 & Evo..I can balance those beauties on my penis
Pictures coming soon.

Dean,
When balancing, do you use the tripod mounting screw on the underside of the housing? It must play havoc with your japs eye!
Hi Johnny,
Spanks for the interest.
No, I either use velcro for quick release or gripfil for that lasting hold. But then you have to scrape it off when finished...A little irritation never hurt anyone though. My testies are great boyancy aids as well. Especially after the weekends or wednesday nights.
Hope this helps.

There is enough penis measuring going on with the older British divers in the 'what year were you certified' thread, Don't taint the video forum with your filth mr B!!!
Ok boys fun is fun but let's try to keep it semi-decent please. This IS a general audience website. We do not want someone googling a porn website and getting a hit at WP, unless it's dive porn.
Johnny, obviously at over 16kg, it's about 3X the weight of your TRV950 housing. I've dived with a phenom on a shore night dive, with battery pack and lights and it is more of a chore.
The person to ask if the extra weight is ok is actually your dive buddy on the boat. They are the only ones who'll be pull your housing out of the water after every dive.
Sorry Gents,
One mans filth is anothers mans lifestyle...
I'll keep it to a minimum.

What's so special about Wesnesday nights anyway? Ladies night at the Wheatsheaf?
Gay night at the D-I-S-C-O.....
Either that or its Bingo night and he's scaring the old dears with his A1 tricks....
Apologies for the filth guys. Us brits are a rough lot.
Regarding the extra weight, yeah it will be a pig humping it around. Was at the gym last night eyeing up a two 10kg weights and did 20 curls. I now look like popeye after a spinach fest!
I cant decide between FX7 and FX1. I'm hoping there will be some weight/size benefit with the FX7, but i guess hardly anything in practise.
thanx for the replies and advice.

In that order...

From what I have read and seen around the place, if you are going for best qualty then go the FX1.
But know one will really know untill they take the FX7 underwater.
