Sony surprises with video camcorder Sony HVR-Z2E
The answer of Sony on the Panasonic challenge CORP.-HVX 200 (ca. 7000 Euros) Sony HVR-Z2E.
Presumably a July launch of the new Sony HVR-Z2E video camcorder will take place.
After previous announcements, the HVR-Z2E controls now 5.4 to 108 mm. Size 16x20x38 in a weight of 2600 grams.
The filter thread remained in 72 mm vis-Ã -vis the HVR-Z1 same. The CCD now amounts to 3X1700 000 pixels. The manual shutter speed 1/3 to 1/16 000 Sec. Vertical resolution 611 LP, horizontal resolution 700 LP, previously 486 LP, optimally for the 16:9 format.
The price should lie in 7500 Euros. More information in www.sonybiz.net

Maybe they'll announce something at NAB, starting April 16th. Would like to see it have progressive scan, if it happens.
