S5 Housing vs. D200 Housing

Several housing manufacturers produce new Fuji S5pro housing & price is

higher than Nikon D200 housing. I compared 2 housing but, could not find

any difference.

Is there any difference ? Any idea what drive price up ?? Thanks.

I guess they figure that if someone is willing to pay more for the S5 Pro, they'll be willing to pay more for the housing too!

I understood Sea & Sea's was exactly the same, just different labeling. I didn't actually pose the question to Nexus while I was in Tokyo.

Yes, I first checked S&S too & finding exactly the same fit/function but, price was about U$100.- different. Now, I heard Nexus price will be different too. I have few people ask me about this but, did not see anything here.

O.K. I am finding Nexus will add 'Lens Release Lever' to S5pro housing which was an issue on D200 housing with 105mm VR lens & price goes up.

Thats odd, should be the same price , might not be the same camera but it is the same housing, Our's is the same for the Nikon D200 and the Fuji S5, they both have the focus selector switch and lens release lever included as standard. There has to be something more that they changed, other than fixing the lens release problem ???

Anyway as announced first in september by your's truly, at that time the people from Fuji had confirmed that they would be using the same D200 frame.

Well I guess I should take the opportunity to introduce the Fuji S5 housing from Aquatica

I'm getting really annoyed with Nexus of late, i think i might head to aquatica for my next housing, Nexus lens gears are sooooo expensive, and 'extras' such as a lens release and a focus mode switch? That's Bullshit! The hole is already drilled and they should come as standard!

I had a look at a S5 on Saturday with a D200 they are the same camera body & controls

aren't they or am I missing some thing So they must fit the D200 housings

out of the box??????? :glare: :glare:
