Flabellina trophina - color variations?

  1. Need an id; looks most like Flabellina trophina, but the cerata are browner than reddish. Seems to be some sort of Flabellina with the rinophores with white stripes on them.

Not sure if this is a different beast?

  2. F. trophina (formally F. fusca), can range from light pink to dark brown. Both your critters are F. trophina.

  3. Thanks, Marli. I was hoping you'd catch this one - the west coast Flabellina species are just too similar!

  4. Thanks! I guess I was right about the color variations. Normally I seen them blood red. I guess it's the brown Elliot Bay mud they've been in.
