  1. if i want to use Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM with Canon Extender EF 1.4x II on S&S DX5

what ports do i nead ? A standard Flat Port + Extension Ring 40 is ok ?

  2. Nicholas

The Canon 100mm macro won't mate with that extender. You will need to get an indepedant extender such as Tamron. I have just bought the Tamron off Ebay for that very reason. Haven't used it underwater but can confirm it mates and focusses over the full range of the lens.

  3. Thank you very much about your advise, i really appreciate it. Assuming that i buy Tamron, what ports do i need?

  4. What I do is to use an extension tube (cheap and simple) and then the Canon 1.4 tele extender will work with the Canon 100mm macro lens. It also gets your focus closer. B)

  5. Sorry for delay in replying but the answer is that I don't know because I use Aquatica. If it is any help, the length of my Tamron 1.4TC (excluding the mount) is 18mms. Not sure if there are different models however - mine says C-AF1 MC4 on the side.
