Inon D2000 to an Ikelite

2 posts
  1. Hi Guys,

I'm about to invest on a housing and strobe to replace my Oly housing. I've narrowed down my choices to the INON D2000 or D240 and an Ikelite 6130.61 housing.

However, I cannot seem to figure out just by looking at pics on the internet how to attach the fiber optic cable to the Ike housing.

I called around and have been told that particular Ikelite housing has a diffuser and I can use that to attach the mounting hardware for the fiber optic cable. Can anybody verify this?

You guys got any suggestions? I really like the D2000 or the 240, but I also don't want to mickey-mouse/duct tape that cable to the housing if I can help it.

    Thanks much,

    Manny S.

  2. Hi Manny,

With this camera/housing i would think you will be much better off using an ikelite DS51 or DS125 as it will allow you to hard wire it, and thus not use the cameras inbuilt flash, saving you lots of battery life, and lessening the chance of hot flashes within the housing causing humid air condensation in the housing.

Here is a link to the housing for other readers: http://ikelite.com/web_pages/oly_5060.html
