  3. When I turn on the flash switch, the little lamp (1) is always red. Is this normal?

I'm asking because the little lamp (5) of TTL is always green.

  4. Hi Nicholas,

I am not sure I understand your question. But anyway, here is my 2c.

button 1 - this button goes from "off" to""TTL". Manual 1 and Manual 2 are the same when using the TTL converter.

Knob 4 - When choosing TTL you can choose TTL compension in knob 4 (from -1 to +1). If you put the knob 4 all to the left you choose to use the strobes in manual mode.

button 2 - this one you use if you want to use one strobe as a slave. if using TTL, this button should be in position off.

button 3 - you choose the strobe power (min to max)

button 5 - power on / off - you should switch on your strobes only after you switch the converter on and thes same when switching off.

I hope this helps. All this info is included in the S&S manuals

    Regards,

    Nuno

  6. Hi Nuno,

thanks for your attention, can you please help me to my other question ?

    Nicholas,

The light in red is normal. When you fire the strobes you will see they become green while firing. When the strobes are charged again the light will become red again.

  7. Hi Nicholas,

It's Jim at Backscatter! Hope you are enjoying your 5D housing.

I'll go by the numbers on your photos for explanation.

    1. Set to TTL

    2. Slave should be off

    3. This should not matter, but I would keep it where you have it at FULL

    4. For normal TTL operation, set to 0. You can compensate up to 1 full stop up or down by turning the dial in 1/3 steps. Where you have the dial set in the picture (pointing to the dot all the way to the left) is to overide the TTL and shoot the strobes manually. You then need to set switch 1 to either manual 1 or 2 (doesn't matter which when the strobes are connected by sync cords) and dial 3 will control your light output.

    5. This switch must be in the on position. Strobes will not fire in manual if this is not on (common misconception). Also the should be turned on after the stobes and camera are turned on (according to my Sea and Sea rep.

The TTL converter normal light color is green.

YS-110 color will be red when it is ready to fire.

    Hope this helps.

    Jim

    Jim,

To my knowledge, the strobes should be turned on only after the TTL converter is on. If it is done the other way around, the strobes might get damaged.

    Cheers,

    Nuno
