Blue Grotto on Kiss Rebreathers

  1. My daughter and one other student finished up their Kiss CCR training this past week. On the last day, I brought along a camera to snap a few photos. Hope you like them.

  2. You must be really proud!!!

But did they really entertain themselves down there for three hours or so??? Don't they have to stay down for that long......??

Even me, who always finds something interesting while diving would have trouble keeping myself occupied at Blue Grotto for hours - but it looks like a good day when not much training was going on there. Nice clear water! Brings back memories as I've done a lot of various training/practice diving there!

Thanks for the interesting peek, again congrats I know you are a proud Dad!!!!

Very best to both of you, Carol ;)

Doug you don't look old enough to have a daughter at diving age.. ;) I'll collect my free beer later.

  4. Seagrant:

The training requires at least 8 dives and at least 500 minutes of in-water time. We did a couple of approximately 1 hour dives each day and moved the sites around -- Weeki Wachee, Blue Grotto, Hudson Grotto, etc. as the easterly winds all week had the ocean stirred up. Blue Grotto is nice but there isn't much to see after awhile. Most of our time was spent on drills and "what ifs?" -- hypoxia, hyperoxia, hypercapnia, flooded loop, dropping and picking up stage bottles, shooting a lift bag, etc.

Thanks! I owe you a LOT of beer and probably an Ophthalmology referral!
