Heinrich converter setup for Nexus D70s housing

Hi, was hoping someone could help me out here.

Just bought a heinrich i-TTL converter for my D70s housed in Nexus.

By trying not to cut any original wire harness within the Nexus housing, I'm intending to assemble 2 extra wire harnesses.

1 will connect both MAIN and SUB wires from sync port (common) into STROBE pinout.

2 will connect CAMERA pinout to Nexus hotshoe block.

Has anyone tried this before? Will this work?

I've been shooting manual all this while with single D125 strobe. What puzzles me is that I have to connect the strobe to housing's "SUB" port. It doesn't work with "MAIN".

Why?

With the i-TTL converter, will I then use the "MAIN" instead for single strobe?

You didn't say how well the convertor works with the D70/Nexus set-up...do you consider it a successful marriage??

Hey Bruce and Wee Chee-

Yes, it worked well with our d70 and Inon Z220...There are some macro photos from Indonesia on our website taken with this setup.

Ryan modified one bulkhead to hold the controller while the other bulkhead was left untouched and still allowed dual strobes for WA if we were not using iTTL.

I'm searching for the p/n or compatible header for the converter. Any idea?

I'm really puzzled by the difference between plugging sync cord into LEFT and RIGHT port.

Looking at the wiring, there shouldn't be a difference. Wonder what circuitry is in the hotshoe block.

Desperately need help.

Not sure what the difference is...Ryan just setup our housing in that manner. Have you tried contacting Matthias?
