I saw in one of the forum posts that you have tried one of the Sigma wide angle "close up" lenses (28mm I think). Did you get it into a housing and underwater? Seems like a very versatile "prime" lens, what did you think of it ? Or are you writing an article on it as we speak?

Hi Stefin,
I have a personal rule of only buying one lens at a time! So I didn't get this one (get the Tok 10-17mm instead) last week.
Nice lens. Not that macro but good for bigger muck creatures. Focuses down to a picture area about the size of a playing card.
I intend to take this one underwater. Just need to get the 10-17mm going first!

perhaps the Sigma 28mm macro by itself would make a good WA macro lens?

Interesting idea. The Sigma 24mm macro has even higher magnification and of course wider.

better still.

I have the Sigma 24mm and it's great for wideangle macro stuff. Especially since I use it on the 5D. So far I've used it topside and f1.8 is really nice to play with DOF too.
Since I've seen this awesome wideangle macro by Paul Kay (he used the Canon 24mm which does just 1:6 but with additional dioptre) I have in mind to use it underwater with the 5D. But I didn't manage to do it so far.
I think 84° and 1:2.7 is a quiet strong combination for such shots. And almost 1000 bucks less than the Canon 24mm f1.4
