Have been shooting for years with a nike5 15mm lense 105 strobe and 35 with framers for macro. I own a Nike D50 and a few lenses 60mm macro and the 18-55mm that comes with the camera and a few others. Non except the 60mm would be a great UW lens. I dont want to spend allot of $$ on a housing and ports because I dont have the $$ to burn and may upgrade from this body at some point and dont want to be stuck with a cheap body and expensive housing. Having said that I want to start shooting digital uw because I believe you can progress faster when you get the feed back of seeing the shot right away dont have to scan etc etc.
So I have been looking into a Fantasea housing(costs about $800 with the 18mm-55 mm port.) I dont know allot about housings ie how the Glass/Plastic between the lens and water effects the quatily of the image and are some bettor than others. I dont want to down grade the image quality I have now by going this route. I would like to get a port for my 60mm macro and get a dome (Fanasea only makes a 5" dome port) for a 12-24 Nike or sigma if it fits. I have been told the 15mm sigma will fit. Any input would be helpfull
Have you considered Ikelite? They are just a little bit more expensive, but are much more versatile when it comes to lens support. In addition, Ikelite housings come with TTL converters.

Thanks for the reply. The Ike housing is gonna wind up costing me about $ 500-$600 more. but may have to go that way. Will the TTL converter allow me to use TTL with my SB 105 . The fanatasea is such an unkown and I cant find any experienced UW photographer to vouch for them

No, unfortunately you have to use Ikelite strobes in order to have TTL with Ikelite housings... But you can use your 105 in manual mode.
