"RANONGGA, Solomon Islands (AFP) - The seismic jolt that unleashed the deadly Solomons tsunami this week lifted an entire island metres out of the sea, destroying some of the world's most pristine coral reefs."

Incredible! We have so much concern for man's impact on our reefs (as is completely appropriate), but consider what nature can do in just seconds. I suppose in the natural order, reefs are lost and reefs are formed...and the cycle repeats. Problem is, when man is destroying reefs at such an alarming rate, when nature does strike, there is no off-setting recovery. Makes one consider that if nature moves aggressively, we could loose our reefs much sooner than ever feared.
