Great Hammerhead

Eric, that is one magnificent picture.
Just one point, the blue colour of the water looks a bit unnatural. Have you dabbled with the colour levels on this?

Unbelievable great shot.. Is there a story to this shot and what lens did you use?
To make it perfect I would try to retouche out the diver in the upper left corner because he is a little distracting.
Can you tell us a little bit about your experience withe the Adobe RAW Plug-In.

And.. here's the eye at 100% from the original image. It's been sharpened and brightened to show the colors.

Thanks.
I used the Canon 15mm full-frame fish-eye. He was probably just a meter from me -- maybe less. Dual Ike 125 strobes, close to full-power, with diffuser.I like the diver! Makes the hammerhead look huuuuuuge.

I'll write more about the plug-in when I've recovered from the trip. Just got back this pm. Basically, you should get it. It rocks.
I still use breezebrowser for batch converts, but when I really want to work on an image, I use the plug-in.

WOW.............did you have the opportunity for any other shots this close?
-
He's baaaaaackk!
Can't wait to see the photos from this trip Eric - wow!
Cheers

WOW! If this were the only shot from the trip, I'd consider it a success and worth every cent!

Wow X 2
Can't agree with donauw more, that shot worth an all dive trip!
-
Eric, that is simply outstanding.
-
Would that be considered a "money shot"?
-
All I can say it WOW, OMG that is agreat shot!
-
Hey, guys -- thanks for such nice comments.
I did get close to these guys more than just a few times. All of the photos are now up at my website. -

Great shots Eric!!! I love the hammerhead shot! I like the diver in the background. How could that little diver ever distract you from that huge shark coming at you!
I'm a little jealous. I was diving in the Bahamas the same week off the Nekton Rorqual. Saw only 1 hammerhead and it was not "a player". Had a great time anyways.
