I would be interested in any comments on the reliability (or lack thereof) of the Sea&Sea YS-110 strobe. I ask because a new YS-110 strobe failed to fire before use in the water (after a rough Gulf Stream crossing).
Thank you.

Just back from two weeks in Bali. My buddy had two brand new 110's. After three days he got water in the battery compartment of one - no great problem, we cleaned it up and assumed he'd made a cock-up when he assembled it (although he has used Sea and Sea with similar doors for years with no problem). He then took extra special care plus a new O-ring when he put it together again for the next dive. However, the same thing occurred.
A week later the other 110 stopped working on a dive and on coming ashore we could see condensation on the inside of the front. We took it apart carefully and there was absolutely no sign of ingress in either the battery compartment or the bulkhead - both were snuff dry.
Both now on their way back to the UK agent. Fortunately, he had a YS90 along also plus my spare strobe to see him through the rest of the trip.
Anybody else had problems or is he just extra unlucky?
