  1. Any C&C on the shot would be much appreciated!

I've cropped and edited it some. Also, is there any way I can 'watermark' it on Photoshop?

    Thanks!

    Cheers! :)

  2. Hi Andrew,

Your processing of the photo looks good. The only improvement I can see would be to shoot it from an angle so that you can see both eyes.

The color looks good but you may try playing w/ the red curve to pump it up a bit.

To watermark the photo just use the Text tool and set the Opacity to whatever looks good.

  3. Hi James,

Many thanks for the tips. Was a bit of a challenge taking the shot initiall as the whip was perpendicular to the wall and I didn't have much of a surface to 'plant' myself while taking the shot, apart from the slight current! Am glad the little fella wasn't keen on moving about too much! What's the chance of dislodging the whip if I adjust it's alignment to get the frontal shot? I understand these sea whips are quite hardy, yes?

Again, much appreciation for the help.

    Cheerio!

  4. Hi Andrew

To watermark the shot in photoshop

select the black forground and white background in the toolbox (left of screen)

select the text tool and type in your watermark.

position the text by dragging it to where you want it.

Left click the text layer box (bottom right of screen) this will isolate the text layer.

Go to Filter at the top and scroll down to Stylize then right to emboss.

Click yes to rasterize image and set the emboss peramiters, click OK

Just above the layer box is an options box (its really small) showing normal,

Left click will open options and the best one is overlay for watermarks but have a play to see which one suits the image the best.

    I hope this makes sense

    Good luck

  5. Hi Nige,

Didn't get past the black foreground and white background! I can't find a 'text tool'! Is the 'Type tool' the same thing?

I've only managed to type text where I wanted to put the mark and after that, even with right-click, I can't get the filter you mention.

    Sorry! Real bummer this!

  6. Andrew,

Sorry I wasn't that clear, probably the bottle of Bushmills 10 year old malt had more of an influance than I expected.

    Try this

    http://www.grafx-design.com/18photo.php

It explains it better than a drunk old computor technophobe on Wetpixel's forums.

If you have no joy try a google search for "Photoshop Watermark Tutorial"

Theres absolutely Gazillions of photoshop sites out there

    Again good luck

  7. Hi Nige,

Thanks again. Perhaps if I had a few shots of the Bushmills, I'd be able to figure out what you were trying to tell me!

Have managed to get it done! Cheers!!
