Color temp settings

  1. Hi All,

Gonna use an SB 105 with my D70 for macro. Any suggestions for the color temp setting.? Anyone know the color temp of the SB105? Will using a diffuser change the temp?

    Thanks

    Joe

  2. Not sure what you mean by this. The SB105 - does not have any adjustment for colour temp. You camera has white balance adjustments. I would suggest starting in A (auto) white balance. That is what I use.

The diffuse may make a small difference to colour temp. But not significant.

  3. Alex,

Sorry for the confusion I meant in the camera (white balance) not the flash . I will try auto

    Thanks

  4. 4700 K

  5. A kelvin number is very dependant on strobes and their warmth (colour temp). I find for macro I can shoot 4100-4300K and for wide angle 4500K, but then my strobes are warm.

I guess would be 4700-5300K for the cooler Nikonos SB105s. But I would stick it on Auto and you should be fine.
