New Canon 16-35 II with Aquatica

3 posts
  1. Hi:

For you Aquatica users out there, has anyone tried the new Canon EF 16-35mm F2.8 II lens on a 5D body? I'm curious if there is any feedback yet regarding the correct focus gear and extension ring for this setup.

    Thanks,

    Dan

  2. Dan, i just got the lens this morning, the zoom gear is the same # 18708 and the current extension look like its the right one and that would be the 18457, I still have to put in some pool time on it, but i'm confident about the combination. BTW sweet chunk of silica, i'm happy for the Canonite out there.

  3. I just purchased a 5D, Aquatica and Canon 16-35. I am using it without a strobe, freediving in the PNW so I am light challenged. I also have a Magic filter. you can see images at http://www.underseaimages.com/blog

I like the housing except for the zoom/focus knob placement. They put it high to make room for the lens release button gear which I will never use. I use the zoom knob alot so I plan to modify the Aquatica left handle so I can get to the zoom easier.

I am using the Aquatica recommended zoom gear and extension which is listed on their site.
