Take your CP5000 UW - what you will need

  1. I am posting this for newbies like myself. I gathered info from this forum and a local Ikelite dealer. Thanks for the input.

    (retail prices)

    CP5000 Housing - $950

    CP5000 Strobe Kit** - $1015

    Arm Mount - $30

    Dome Port - $150

    Nikon 19mm WA lense - $175

    Nikon lense adaptor - $15

    Total - $2335

    **Strobe kit includes:

    DS125 Strobe

    Charger

    Quick Grip II Arm

    Sync Cord

    Hard Case

  2. I can't resist jumping in on this one...hehe

Here would be a "bare bones" estimate:

    CP5000 Housing - $950

Sea and Sea YS90DX and Sync cord: $500

    Arm Mount - $30

ULCS 2 Joint arm system: $180

Wheeled Igloo Cooler as a case: $40

(The wideangle lens is NICE, but not essential)

    Total - $1700

You could substitute the YS90 strobe with a DS50 or a Substrobe50 if that's your preference and save $100 more.

    Cheers

    James

  3. The Ikelite dealer I am working with made it sound like I had choices for domeports to work with the Nikon 19mmWA lense. Is this true? If so, what are the differences with the ports that will work?

  4. I think that this housing will have two ports. The flat port which accepts add-on lenses, and the dome port which is specifically designed for the Nikon 19mm lens.

  5. The DS50 SubStrobe package (same intensity and coverage as YS90) is $500 including arm system, sensor, everything you need. The Coolpix 5000 has a wider angle lens than the Olympus and housing accepts external wide angle lenses from Sea & Sea or Inon. Optional port with dome will be available to accept the Nikon WC-E68 19mm conversion lens.
