Could I buy two ds51 for doing WA shoot and fish portrait (about 15cm)?
Do you have other ideas?
My dive plan have no electricity so standard AA is better.
Thanks
I can cover 15mm Fisheye on a cropped sensor (20D) with two DS-50's. this is about comparable with 11-12 mm. Without a diffusor I just manage, much easier with the diffusors attached.
the 3 seconds instead of 1 s reload is of no issue to me. How will you manage with the camera's batteries ?

D70 has good autonomy.
I'll buy some other battery pack (not very expensive).
Thanks for the answer
PS : please do remember that the flash power is reduced one stop with the diffusors on. check out if there is sufficient power left for your purpose...
One of our DS51's blew up on our last trip. I'm through with Ikelite strobes. The first DS51 flooded on its maiden dive.
The other lasted until the 4th trip.

Sorry to hear that! I have had a DS50 for 5 years, 130 dives, probably 4000 shots, no problems. I just bought a DS51 to go with it. They have been great strobes for me.
I bought a DS51 at the beginning of april and have over 2700 flashes on it so far and its doing fine. Its in the water 4 to 5 times a week. Alot of where I go is in the breakwater area and the flash is tugged and bumped alot and it hasnt shown any problems so far. I am a amatuer at best though and not a professional.
