Tokina 10-17 FE zoom in Aquatica?

5 posts
  1. Maybe Jean or Mauricio can shed some light on this. I have a a Canon 20D in the A20 housing and I am looking to buy the tokina 10-17 FE zoom lens soon. Will this lens be supported by Aquatica ? and if so - What is the time frame for availability? I have the dome port but I will need to get the zoom ring, port extension ring and I assume the fisheye dome shade ( I currently have the larger dome shade). Any info would be a big help...

    cheers!

  2. Hello Mathew, you will need the fisheye shade and we already have a zoom gear for some time now its part number is 18717 if im correct, i'm not in the office now, so I can't 100% that one till monday, as for extension, so far most folk shooting the lens do so without an extension, and my bench widget tend to confirm that also, I will do some test somewhere down the road to confirm and will update the lens chart accordingly. Oh and we are stock on thsese gears, so its just a matter of having your dealer pass the order ^_^

I am seriously considering that lens for my personnal kit, its getting very good review from everywhere, especially the underwater community, It would be interesting to get the reaction from the Tokina people, I doubt they had us in mind when they designed the lens

  3. actually the lens projects well into the dome without any extension, I am wondering if it will shoot better with a thin extension ring?

  4. Actually if one was needed it would be the 18456 or 18463 the thinnest we have, still, result I've seen from the 10mm fisheye end of the lens seem very good, fisheye can be quirky like that, I will eventually get underwater with the lens and test the various extension combination in order to shed some light on this.
