  1. Hi everyone,

I just up loaded my first website, even though it's not finished yet, I thought I'd open myself for some constructive criticism if you care to ?

This is my first attempt in building my own site. I used a program called Web Easy. 6 Professional by VCOM. In deed it was very intuitive software and it was a pleasure using.

I tried learning Front Page but never found enough time or inspiration to stick with it . I ran across Web Easy Pro at Comp USA and I'm glad I bought it. It was made for people like myself who don't care to learn a new career.

I'm a frayed it won't load very quickly for those of you who are still on dial up. I could have optimized some of the images a bit better in Image Ready but chose quality settings for my jpeg's thumbnails and pictures. I can always work on that later if need be ? So I'm asking what do you think ?

  2. Hi,

Great images, I only made a fast process just for general impress but I marked your site and I'll have to return there for deeper look.

Few small criticism points (hopes it also constructive):

    - The domain name is too long, hard to remember it if you want to point someone to your site verbally.

    - The backgrounds of the site is to crowd for me, too much details / colors / ... , I likes less details there but that just me, especially the motion gifs, I think it's take the attention from the images sometime.

    - There is a image of diver holding a ray, how you said it in the states? not politically correct this days.

    - Although my screen is 1024 by 768 pixels, I steel need to scroll a little in the horizontal.

Thanks for your input, I'm glade someone took the time to answer.

I ‘ve heard your same remarks from a couple of friends of mine.

I guess I'll make a few global changes to my site when I finish the remaining pages.

I also have another domain name that is a simpler name and could point that to my website too.

As far as your remarks about the diver harassing the Ray, I think you talking about the diver with his finger above the Green Sea Turtle ? If so, I don't think he's actually touching the Turtle.

If I hear the same remarks about that same image from others, I have know problem pulling that picture from my site.

    Thanks again,

    Marc

  5. Hi Marc,

I checked out your website and enjoyed it. It was a little bright and "peppy" for my taste, but no objectionable. The one thing that I didn't like was that the photos were so small. When I clicked on the thumbnail, the photo that came up was only about 400x300, about 4x the thumbnail size. I would prefer that the photos be more like 1024 x 768, or larger. I think that people expect a larger photo when they click on a thumbnail, so they won't be offended if it is larger than their screen resolution. I expect a more detailed photo so that I can better view your work. With such small photos, its not worth click on the thumbnail, so I don't get to really experience your photography.

Overall, very nice. I want to create a website of my own, one of these days.

    Hi Guy's,

As far as the animated gif's go, it's a cartoon and should not be taken to seriously. In any event I've decided to take that particular gif off my site and a few others as well. Not because it's politically incorrect, maybe your right and it's to distracting and busy.

Your right about the domain name being to long. My mistake, I thought the search engines used the domain name for ranking. I have another shorter domain name I can use and point towards my site. This is my first site and I'm still learning the ropes .

David your comment about the size of the images when clicked on is well taken. I purposely made the images small so is not to make them a target for pirates, and faster to down load. If you scanned further through the thumbnail pages I did increase the size of the pictures slightly when clicked on, probably not enough. May be I'll increase the size of the images for my for my favorite pictures gallery page. They would be my favorite pictures, and pictures I've sold the most of.

    I appreciate your comments,

    Marc
