FUji F30 strobe?

  1. Does anyone know where I can get a tray and strobe for my Fuji f30. I have the Fuji uw case but would like to add the strobe??

    Thanks

  2. Welcome to Wetpixel!

I've got the F31 myself, and I really enjoy using it. Take a look at the Inon D2000 strobe. It's fully automatic with plenty of manual control. It would be very easy to use the D2000. Should your exposure be over/under, you could fine tune it with a dial. Real easy. The D2000 with optical cable is about $630. They make a version without the modeling light for about $80 less.

If that's too much, consider an Ikelite DS51 or Sea&Sea YS-27. I think the Ikelite will do fully automatic TTL with the right controller. My understanding is that the YS-27 is all manual.

As for trays and arms, there are tons of options. I use ULCS. Inon, Ikelite and TLC are also choices.

Try Reef Photo or Underwater PhotoTech. They both have great service.

  3. Would you say the d2000 is the way to go then? I like fully automatic : )

So if the price for that is around $630 for the strobe and cable what does that leave?

    The tray and arm??

  4. My wife uses this set-up:

    Fuji F31fd with Fuji housing.

    Inon F30 lens mount

ULCS digital tray, handle, arms, Inon adaptor

    Inon D2000 strobe

    Inon Fiber Optic Cable

It is such a breeze to use, it seriously made me jealous next to my big rig (D200, Subal set up)

Later on she can add the Inon wide angle lens or close up lens as she wants.

I highly recommend the Inon strobe and the Ultralight combination, which will be useful into the future.

Can you give me a rough ballpark on what that all cost?

    Works for me, thanks....

  8. Well I pulled the trigger and am waiting for the D-2000 strobe, the Inon mount base and the ULCS tray, arms, etc. Actually it comes tomorrow . Wish I already had it as I am heading to the local quarry in a couple of hours to have some fun.

Any hints and or tips from those that have this similar setup would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
