Ikelite strobe posts vs Nikonos

3 posts
  1. I have an Aquatica housing for my 20D with the standard Nikonon 5-pin strobe posts.

I recall reading somewhere that Nikonos posts are more prone to flooding. Now that Big A is offering the Ikelite strobe posts on their housings, I was wondering if it is worth the modification.

I use Inon Z240 strobes - will Ike's 4118.1 sync cable will work with this new strobe post? This connector is meant to connect Ike housings to Inon strobes, so I reckon it should work with an Aquatica housing with Ike posts, but this being u/w photography where nothing works the way it should, I don't wanna take anything for granted.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

  2. I have had periodic problems with Nikonos 5 synch sockets with various housings and strobes. When I ordered my Subal D2X housing I ordered it with the Ikelite synch sockets. I have never had a problem with Ikelite synch sockets when using Ikelite synch cords.
