Uwatec Aladin Problems

  1. I went and bought myself a new Uwatec Aladin Tec 2G dive computer as my Suunto was driving me nutty, going into loads of deco and then coming out till I was at the exact ceiling stop. After only a few trips one of the buttons started to stick, then... you won't believe this, the button actually popped right out in my hand like a jack in the box right before I was going to dive! Needless to say I took it back the shop and I'm now using a loaner from them and the button on this one sticks too!

I'm wondering if anyone else has had issues with this computer or if it is just this model?

  2. Wow! That's a strange problem, I never heard about this one before. I bought an Aladin Prime as a backup computer, I really like Uwatecs, as I have never had any problem with my Uwatec Smart Pro (used for almost 10 years).

Around dive #20 my Prime started to act out, it would go into dive mode in the surface, and the only way to fix this was to remove and reinstall the battery! A royal PITA, but simpler than your problem. I took mine to the shop where I bought it and they replaced it, no charge, you should do the same, Uwatec and Scubapro are very good with warranties. A few months ago one of the buttons in my Smart Pro (different "old" style buttons) stopped working; I took it to the shop and they sent it to Scubapro, a few weeks later Scubapro replaced it with a brand new one.
