UW camera to trigger external circuit?

3 posts
  1. Does anyone know if any compact camera has an electrical connector from where you can trigger an external circuit at the shooting moment?

I know it's a bit technical for this forum, but the idea is to log information externally in the shooting moment of an UW-camera. Any suggestions on technical forums where this may be discussed?

  2. Hm. Interesting question, but I don't know the answer. I think some of the older Oly models have strobe connection points, which maybe you could use to trigger your circuit?

You might also try the DIY forum, some pretty tech savvy folks read there.

  3. You could do it with a DSLR - most of them have an external trigger port / strobe connection.

Guess the other alternative if you are using a flash is to trigger an external strobe sensor and use that signal to get your data out.
