Ikelite port help required

  1. Hi all

I am wondering which Ikelite ports I should order for my Nik d80 housing with tokina 12-24mm, Sigma 18-50mm and Nikon 60mm macro lens'.

I was thinking of a 6" dome port for the Tokina/Sigma and a flat port for the Nikon 60mm. Any body have any experience with this setup and can suggest a configuration.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanx

    Spence

  2. Hey Spence you should check the Ikelite website as they list the recommended ports there.

I use the flat port for the 60 mm lens and also use this for the 18-135mm kit lens set at 26mm.

The photos are not too bad, medium wide-good for fish shots.

  3. See Ikelite port chart for port recomendations.

Tokinoa 12-24 uses either the #5503.51 6" dome or the #5510.16 8" dome.

Sigma 18-55 uses either the #5503 6" dome or the #5510.16 8" dome.

Nikon 60mm uses flat port #5502.41.

The sigma and tokina need different 6" domes, but will can share an 8" dome. Which way you go is really up to you. Either would work fine. The 8" dome will give you a little better image quality, however the 6" domes are cheaper (even though you have to buy two) and take up less room in your bag. (it's hard to believe but true, the 8" dome really is bigger than 2 6" domes)
