  1. Hey guys,

Almost all underwater photography these days is aimed at bringing out the most colour and vibrancy in a subject. With that in mind I went out the other day to try and capture subjects using as little light and colour as possible whilst trying to still convey the beauty or profoundness of the subject matter.

    Hope you enjoy these shots,

not sure if I succeded so i'd love to hear your thoughts on them,

got some cool shadows on this fish. This is was proberbly the best shot of the dive

and lastly, kelp lashing about in a surge. A bit more artistic than normal for me but I still like it

I kind of like the last image of this message. It reminds me of something that was cross processed from film days. Like print film processed as slide or vice versa. Artsy fartsy in its own way. :D

  7. if you're going for the monochrome look, i'd suggest converting them to black & white. I think they'd have more impact that way. its a nice start.

  8. ive started playing around with B&W today actually, havent made much of a dint yet but if i get some good results ill post them up here :D

  9. I like the first fish portrait, a different feel to it than the typical types you see everybody doing.

Don't be affraid to be different. A world of photography where everybody who is picking up a camera and doing the same thing, is damn boring.

    Well said!

  11. Yes I liked the first one as well. Shows imagination..

It looks like the subject is caught in ice...Well it does to me anyhow !!!

    Dive safe

  12. I like the concept. I also agree U/W photography is becoming formulary. Especially in contests. I'm all for new and different. Lets see if that gets a rise from someone
