Canon mcro zoom lens.

  1. Hi everybody,

I'm considering to get a housing fro my eos 400d and a macro lens.

    I've used a few times my friend's nikon d 70 with a 70/180 zoom 4,5/5,6 (1:1,3 almost macro).

I cannot find nothing similar in canon lenses, any suggestion?

    Cheers.

  2. Hi and welcome to Wetpixel.

You can use the Canon 70-200 F4L with a Canon 500D diopter for pretty good pseudo-macro performance.

Another lens to look at is the Sigma 17-70mm

    Cheers

  3. Why not try the 100mm macro. It's sharp, inexpensive and there are many ports available for that lens.

    I cannot agree more wholeheartedly.

This lens is really a workhorse for UW macro.

and as was mentioned it is relativly inexpensive.

  5. I've been using the above mentioned Sigma 17-70 for some time now. It is a nice and versatile lens for underwater photography. But you're actually not getting very close. The max magnification is 2.3 so I would not recommend it if you are looking for a good 'macro' lens.
