I thought I'd post a few samples from my Sipidan Water Village trip before my gallery is up. This was my first full trip shooting still. All these pictures were taken with a D100/Nexus, a 70-180, and dual Inon Z220 strobes. I haven't finished cleaning up these pictures and there was a great deal of muck in the water, so some shots may have a lot of backscatter. None of these images will be cropped.
First, some frogfish...
and some more...
and some more...
Very nice Craig. I take it you liked the 70-180 setup?
That is some way cool stuff there. Great colors on all the froggies and leafies :-)
And the shrimp is nice! Look forward to some more!

Woohoo!!!! Great results from the 70-180!!!! (The photographer might have something to do w/ it too) :-)
I like the shrimp on the rod coral and the second frogfish the best.
Cheers
James
Love the colours!!!
You must give more details of the location as I think my list of places to go just grew.

Loved the 70-180. Once I put it on it never came off. I only got to use it for 3 days though.
Was all this done in autofocus? Does the Z220 automatic focus light work with your setup?
Mike
"I like the Guppy best!"
Congrats Craig - Worthwhile trip once again. I just love that Strawberry Dacari Frogfish, I have never seen one... I will need the GPS for October! The White leaf fish is a nice composition and the crocfish eye.
Any Pygmies?

All done in manual with manual focus. The focus light and laser both work.

That frogfish is only about an inch long. I shot it on another dive (with the 105) while it was quite active.
I clipped its tail. Damn it! Not hard to do considering its small size.
The croc eye was shot on a dive where I was trying an internal diopter. I was more than a foot away and the shot is not cropped. I figured I didn't need that kind of magnification so I preferred to do without the diopter. It also let me do shots like this just for fun...
I've never seen pygmies on Mabul although we're always asking.
Great shoots,The frogfish shots are amazing!
Fantastique pictures, very very nice and the contrast is incredible with a lot of details.
