We won the Mogan UWPhoto Contest!!!

Last week took place the UWPhoto competition in the island of Gran Canaria which we (Luisa and I) entered in the final spot (you need to be selected to enter). The other photographers were Carlos Minguell (Spain), Settimio Cipriani (Italy), Rui Guerra (Portugal), Espen Rekdal (Norway), Carlos Villoch (Spain), Thomas Lüken (Germany), Martin Davis (UK), Axel Debatin (Germany), Samantha Bean (UK) , Arturo Telle (Spain) and Gilles Suc (France).

For us, just being there was a privilege and we enjoyed every minute we where there and all the people we met. Perfect organization that took care of everything for everyone . We also enjoyed sharing the boat with Sam and Tony and Martin and Allyson during the four dives we did together and we hope we see you again soon

Yes, but not without my camera equipment that didn't make it due to a considerable ****-up by SAS. Our equipment still hasnt surfaced...

The airlines deadline for payment is next saturday. If it doesn't surface by then we will start talking about money. Id prefer to recieve my luggage as it has alot of special gear that I have to make/build and that they will never fully compensate.

Thats life I suppose.

Hi David,

I have the D2x and parts of the housing. I'm not able to use my housing until I recieve the parts I'm missing so being on a new destination with much to do I'm forced to work with film again on the macro shots. So it seems the competition was the start of a lot of bad luck for me. Viz is bad so I'm shooting mostly macro here and the worst flood in 150 years has my subjects swimming for their lives.

Now by beating Carlos Minguell you should be well on your way to the Spanish national team, so we'll meet again in Korea for the next world championships. Hopefully I'll be able to give you some stiffer competition there!
