Hi everybody,
These were from my trip w/ my family to Key Largo, FL and Nassau, Bahamas. This was my first real attempt at underwater photography. I'm not new to photography so I currently have a Canon 5D and 20D, but because I don't have any housing for either, these photos were taken with my dad's Canon Powershot A75 in a Canon housing w/ SeaLife SL960 External Flash w/ diffuser and flash link.
I'm pretty happy with the results, especially given the conditions. I had some problems with backscatter the first couple dives and progressed with each dive. Shutter lag was one of my biggest enemies with the camera and the lack of a power adjustable external flash meant I had to hold the flash and "adjust the power" by changing the subject distance. Other than that, I'm still pleased with how the images came out. Coming from a DSLR user, though, the image quality could be a little better ![]()
I learned a lot from this trip regarding lighting, picking out subjects, etc and I'm looking forward to learning more from everyone here. It's a lot of trial and error but it sure is incredibly fun!
Anyways, on to the show!
