  1. finally got some time to put some pix online from my 2 week visit to anilao at the end of march.

while the accomodation and the food was really not so good... the diving was ok for us.

    all was taken with d70+105/60+subtronic

  2. Very nice shots, I would crank up the saturation a bit in the macros, but maybe it is just my monitor that is not calibrated.

  3. i recognize a lot of those critters, nicely done.

Where did you end up staying?

  4. outrigger,

    cant recommend it !

overpriced as the whole area looks like(i payed aprox.45€ p.p for meals and the room)...the food was really bad, even as we have been the only 2 western customers for 2 weeks besides some ppl staying 2-3 days and the locals on the weekends. they even were not able to make us a fresh mango juice for breakfast, lol.

but ronnie is a really nice and friendly guy !!!

the owner of the resort was also there the last few days and he showed me his liveaboard fleet (expeditionfleet).

i was really shocked after my visit on the boats (about 5 or 6)ready to start the season, they looked more like ready to go on the graveyard in my opinion.but the impression i had from the boats was the same as from the resort.

the diving was interesting and fun because of ronnie !!!!!

  5. Yeah, Expedition Fleet, Class act...NOT! , one of his boats ran aground at Tubbataha last year. Cut a 150 meter swath of destruction on the reef. He was fined, but not sure how much. His other boat ran agound in Honda Bay in Palawan. When he launched his new boat, he told the guests to not steal the new silverware from the dining room.

There are way better places to stay in Anilao.

    Stu

  6. glad to hear Ronnie was a great guide, he does know his stuff.

Sorry to hear about your experience with accomodation

  7. hahahahaha, im glad ronnie was your guide :) weve been training the guides here in anilao for underwater photographers, and ronnie is one of our students
