D80 Menu settings

4 posts
  1. If anyone is willing to share their menu settings for a D80/60mm combo I would like to see them. From autofocus selection to metering choices the D80 is a bit confusing to me.

  2. Hi;

    Here's what I use: Spot metering and focusing. I do a half press and recompose if necessary. I usually shoot about 125th to 200th, but it depends on how much background you want to show. Aperture about f14-22; really f16-20 is best with that lens.

    I get my strobes positioned in good and tight and turn them down if I have to. Best color is achieved by having less water to go through.

    IMHO, YMMV, etc.

  3. When using two strobes in Manual mode how do you set #21 on the menu? Manual strobe mode at full power?

  4. That's AF illumination...off, has no bearing.

    But maybe you were referring to #22 Built-in flash? Just leave it in default. It too has no bearing on your strobes in manual mode.
