Nudibranch egg mass, but what species?

  1. I am pretty sure that this is the egg mass of some nudibranch, but I wonder what species it is. It was approximately 1 cm in diameter and was found at Naples reef which is approximately one mile of the coast of Goleta (in Santa Barbara County). I like it for the symmetry. It was very tricky to photograph since there was a strong surge and with my MacroMate I only have a depth of field of a few millimeters.

As usual click for more details.
