I read an article in UW photography magazine stating with the old D100 Nexus housing and manual strobes you need to blank off three of the pins on the hot shoe or the camera won't even fire.
Is anyone using a Nexus D200 housing with manual strobes, in particular Sea and Sea YS300s on manual.
Does it work?
Thanks
Mary
Hi Mary,
On the hotshoe, on top of the camera, you simply slide some electrical tape into the hotshoe. The only pin that needs to be free to work is the big one in the middle; that's the trigger. The earth/negative/ground for the Nikons is under the lip of the side rails of the hotshoe. You will see the small chrome tabs on the side of the hotshoe connector. So, all you have to do is make sure that the trigger is uncovered and the earth is also free to contact the rails and you're all set...
Hth,
Bruce
Thanks Bruce,
I'll receive my d200 housing in the next couple of days. So the Next Swamp day I'll be digital too.
