Back from Grand Cayman

  1. Hi all,

We are back from our trip in Grand Cayman - we really had a great time at Sunset House. One of the pictures I won that trip with is my submarine panoramic picture - I had the opportunity there to do a new pano : the HMS David Nickolson which is just near the Sunset House !

Some other wide angle an macro shots below... and a lot in the "topic of the month" section on my website!

    Comments welcome :)

    Cheers

    Claude

  4. Very nice!

Yes the new panorama is fantastic!

That prop shot with the model is really cool!

And I like your gray angelfish framed with the sponges on the wreck. You know I've seen so many gray angelfish around here and so so so so many pics of gray angelfish that I told myself I was going to "puke" if I see another pic of a gray angelfish....... :)

But there is your photo, with unique framing (the landscape oriented one) and nice colors and it makes me like gray angelfish again!!!

That is a real talent to get something that has been photographed to death incorporated in a photo that is different and striking!

    Thanks Claude, Carol

  5. But there is your photo, with unique framing (the landscape oriented one) and nice colors and it makes me like gray angelfish again!!!

oh :) euhhh.... so... I think you like this shoot cause the real subject is the sponges an that this angelfish is just there as a any other fish you can sea under water :)

    Thanks for your (encouraging) feedback!

    Claude

Claude, where was that prop shot taken?

it is the Balboa - near the Georgetown Harbor

  6. Claude your Balboa Prop is awesome ... Patrick .. did you really just have to ask that question .. or has it been that long since you saw it cause of all the damn cruise ships ? .. maybe you should come out on the Nautilus :) he he he

Claude I like your stingray shots too .. they seem a little dark though .. was it bad visibility or is that just the look you were going for .. it's kinda nice and eery !

  7. Claude I like your stingray shots too .. they seem a little dark though .. was it bad visibility or is that just the look you were going for .. it's kinda nice and eery !

Hello Giles - visibility was good... just a bit "sandy" because of some divers - it's not very easy to be alone there :)

  8. Yeh ... stingray city is a tough shoot unless you get to do it a lot and or pick your time to go there ... summer time in the afternoons can be better .. tends to be less people.

but it's always great fun !

  9. :) Fantastic macro and W/A photos!! Excellent composition Claude.

Did you take W/A with 10-17 fisheye lens? Stunning colours and sharpness!!! :D

After seeing more of your photos and read Alex's new article from UWP37,

I am excited that i have this lens in hand now.... :) next week will go to Sipadan to try it... :)

  10. Did you take W/A with 10-17 fisheye lens? Stunning colours and sharpness!!!

Yes Jenny... except the stingrays, all the WA picture are taken with the Tokina!

  11. Very good image selection.

But the one unique image that can be taken only in Grand Cayman of the International Supermodel is missing :), a trip to Cayman is not a trip without it!

  12. the International Supermodel...

    who's that?

  13. Even i know that... the mermaid!

    Cor

  14. The mermaid has a name...Giles.. have a look at his label on here....

    :)

  15. Argh..here I thought I knew something for a change. Merman dad..merman!

    Cor

  16. ohhhh :) I've tried to do a pano on the Mermaid - but wasn't very interesting!

    Cheers :)
