What lighting ratios do you use for Dual strobes on manual?

  1. I have a dive trip comming up and was wondering what flash ratios you use. I will be using an ikelite 150 and an ikelite 200. I am planning to use the 200 as a main light at 1/4 power and the 150 as a fill at 1/4 power. Anybody have any sugesstions on my settings for macro and widangle photography?

    Thanks

  2. This doesn't really answer your question... but...

I have 2 x DS125 and I use them with iTTL on my Nikon D70. For close work I run one with the diffuser and one without. The one without I try to put above the port with the other to the side. For wide angle/distant stuff I put them both out as wide as I can with the diffusers off.

  3. Well, that is the beauty of two strobes, there is no rule.

I often mess around with the power on both sides. By using different ratios you can create shadows and moods in both WA and macro to suit your composition.

You might up the power to 1/2 on WA shots in order to get a higher fstop to improve corners etc
