  1. Hi all

Please HELP! i have a canon ixus 75 with DC14 housing and want to get a strobe to inprove my picture quality. I have been trawling the web looking for info and am now so confused with all the different types available and large price differences that my head in bangin!!

I had bought a Fantasea Nano PTS-120N and have since been advice that this is poor quality unit and shouldnt have bothered so that has gone back.

I dont want to be spending shed loads on a strobe unit because at the end of the day my photographic skills are limited and my diving is now confined to holidays, i just want to remove the blueness from my snaps!! my budget in £150-200 and will look at new or second hand units.

Any advice will be MUCH appreciated

    Thanks

  2. Hi Raffa,

It will be hard to remove the blueness with your camera because I think it may be a "point and shoot" type where you can't adjust the aperture and shutterspeed yourself. The best you can do is set the camera to -1 or so.

As for strobes, I'd have a look at the units with built in slave sensors. Have a look at the Sea and Sea YS27, (around $250) smallest Inon, or Ikelite DS51+external sensor.

  4. Hi Raffa

I have a S&S Dx-27 and am very happy with it for my point and shoot camera. It has 9 power levels and comes with a kit to attach a fibre optic cable to the front of your housing over the internal flash. The other end connects to the strobe so it synchronises when the internal flash fire's, it will even cope with pre-flash and no need for an external slave sensor.
