Dolphins and reef life in Marsa Alam

  1. Hi guys! Marsa Alam, South Read Sea, is a great place to dive!

Special encounters here: first the Dolphins (Stenelle Longirostris) that come close to divers and play with us! Really unforgettable, dolphins ... really wild and free choose to come close divers and snorkelers and play with ... sometimes they also search direct contact, really unbeliveable for me, very different from situations were dolphins are not really free!

Sha'ab Marsa Alam is the perfect place to find dolphins, and sometimes (not often) they want to play ...

Near to this place you will find Dolphins house, a protect area where is possible to snorkel and to search to see Dolphins but only sometimes, like in this case, dolphins stay in different places and search the contact with people.

  2. Yep, Marsa Alam definitely the place to be!

Love the pics of the dugongs. I never managed to see them there...I was incredibly unlucky, I lived there for 6 months with my husband (a PADI Instructor) and went diving almost every day and didn't see a single one!! Apparantly missed one by 10 minutes and that was the closest I got - not for want of trying and spending dive after dive over the sea grass.

Turtles galore on the house reef though and awesome encounters with oceanic white tips at Elphinstone!

Thanks for the memories...we only got our first underwater camera AFTER we left...dooh!
