  1. Hi

i just want to share my newest macro pics that i took last sunday ( 1st time using Nikon D80 + S&S DX-80 housing)

Overall, this housing is almost identical to my S&S DX-D50 ( In term of handling and using it)

    very easy to use :D

    Enjoy the pics

(All pics were taken using Nikon 105 VR and HOYA diopter + 2)

    Sea&Sea DX-D80 + 2 units of YS-90 auto + Sea Arm VI

  2. Hi Kids.

    Well done!!

I also have the D80 on S&S housing and my previous cameras was the D50 too.

I use the same setup, the only difference is that I use the older 105mm plus TC Kenko 2X instead of diopter filter.

    This housing is very nice.

The only thing that I did not like is about the command to lock the AE/AF that S&S took off on this housing...

    regards

  3. great job...I love the 2nd phot...

    I'm another D80/S&S housing owner...

so how the HOYA diopter affect your depth of field? DOF on the 105mm is pretty small, but your dOF and sharpness looks pretty good on those shots, what aperature were they taken at?

    Hi Scott

sorry for the late reply, i just got back from Jakarta.

Those pics were taken using F22 1/125 stobes were setting full Power Manual Mode.

i dont think the DOF got effected to much.

i can stil get a decent DOF with this kind of setting ( 105 vr and HOYA +2 diopter)

The only problem that i encountered is the diffraction.

when i'm shooting macro pics, using Aperture smaller than F16, i can see the diffraction effects on my pics.

    Which is not nice.

However, i hv no option, i need to choose between DOF and sharpness.

in this case i choosed DOF.

Next tuesday, i willl received my Athena 105 dome port + INON wet diopter.

I will try it out this sunday ^^

Will Give you a report/sample pics next week.

    Cheers

    Andree
