Very nice, where were you diving in Belize.
-
We dove Tourneffe mainly and of course the famous Blue Hole which was pretty uninteresting except for the plentiful amount of very curious sharks. Here is a still life from the trip

one more that I like....

Ive been very impressed with the macro shots I've seen recently from the D100.
Have they sorted out the housing problem?

Yes they are fixing the housing problem...just adding stronger springs so all controls work at depth. I took it down to 160 feet and none of the controls worked on the back...I should get mine back soon I hope. I am very happy with the macro shots from the D100.

Please let us know if you hear any time frame on the "fix" from Sea & Sea. They've had my DX D100 housing 3 weeks now and said they would "let me know" when they had a response from Japan. Calls made by my local dealer have not been any more productive.
Anyone else out there with information?

Who did you buy it from?

Local dive shop, owned by a friend. He's a Sea & Sea Dealer but doesn't move much high end stuff.

I'm headed to Belize with my new 5050 setup at the end of the month... we're basing out of San Pedro, but do you have suggestions for locations for 'good shots'? Macro or scenery or large pelagics... anywhere you thought was especially nice? We are scheduled to do Blue Hole and Lighthouse, but other than that, I have 3 open days.
Thanks!

Hi Wade,
There are really only about 3 places you can dive based out of Ambergris:
Local reefs
Lighthouse Reef Complex
Turneffe Reef Complex
The latter two are better for wideangle shooting IMO because they are healthier. I got plenty of good macro shots at the reefs around San Pedro though.
I have dove all of the above with Amigosdive.com (Amigos Del Mar - Melanie and "Changa" Paz"
About 100 miles North of there is Banco Chinchorro - some of the best diving in the region but very hard to get to.
HTH
